november 2011 !
the crunch of leaves underfoot is giving way to the crunch of snow. winter is barreling down on hogwarts, but the weather is nothing compared to the storm the country is weathering. muggleborns and "creatures" might be illegal, but some are still trying to blend in at hogwarts. think they can pull it off? the department of magical purity certainly doesn't. pick a side, this is no time to lose your convictions (as long as the ministry doesn't know you have them).' {read more...}

is a halloween party on a pottersite overdone? yes? how about five of them all running at once? that's how we do it on the beginning of the end. come on down and pick an event. there's one at hogwarts, firenze, and beauxbatons, plus one for pro-ministry adults and one for anti-ministry adults. we like to cover our bases, but we like it even more when everyone's having a good time. that's the idea, anyway. so go have fun with 'em. also check the new layout of hogwarts, and pardon our dust as the activity check gets finished up. who said admins ever get to sleep?

This is a brief timeline of what has happened since The Beginning has opened, for anyone who's newer and is curious.
{There are some differences of 1997 onwards because we were roleplaying the time of the Deathly Hallows before the book came out, so we had to guess the best we could.}
- - - - - - - - - -
1991 -- Harry and his friends started school. Voldemort attempted to get the Philosopher's Stone, but Harry stopped him in the end.
1992 -- The Chamber of Secrets was opened and many students were petrified, including Hestia Burke. In the end, Harry saved the day.
1994 -- The return of the Triwizard Tournament and You-Know-Who. Cedric Diggory was killed in the final task of the tournament.
1995 -- Voldemort and his Death Eaters got into the Ministry of Magic and attempted to get one of the prophecies, but it was shattered in the end.
1996 -- The Death Eaters infiltrated Hogwarts and Albus Dumbledore was killed.
1997 -- Harry and Hermione went on their search for the Horcruxes. Ron remained at school for this year. Muggleborns were interrogated and arrested, including Eliza Cunningham, Meleny Amherst and Hestia Burke. Blaise Zabini murdered Rufus Scrimgeour.
1998 -- Ron joined Harry and Hermione on their search for the Horcruxes. Eliza Cunningham helped Harry find one of them.
August 1999 -- All of the Horcruxes are destroyed and so is Voldemort, once and for good. Many deaths occur at the ending battle in Diagon Alley [not Hogwarts]. Alastor Moody and Fred Weasley were not killed. However, Bill Weasley was killed, leaving Fleur Delacour alone to take care of her one born child -- Victoire Weasley.
1999 -- The Triwizard Tournament occurred once more. It was hosted at Firenze Academy, a wizarding school in Florence, Italy. The age was lowered to sixteen. The champion was Valerie Dubois of Beauxbatons.
2000 -- A serial killer starts to kill those who used to be called Death Eaters.
2001 -- Kienmayer von Tepes, a Hogwarts drop out, starts to put together an army to oppose Britain's inequalities for werewolves, vampires and other creatures not deemed as 'wizards'.
2002 -- After a couple of years of ex-Death Eaters being murdered, the serial killer was finally caught by Viola Nero and Roger Davies. The serial killer ended up being Viola's sister, Fiora, who was also Roger's fiance.
2003 -- Kienmayer von Tepes and his army took over Hogsmeade, then Hogwarts, and attacked the Ministry of Magic itself. The fighting drew to a stalemate and Kienmayer and his army were forced to retreat. However, their war was not in vain. Laws were changed for werewolves and vampires concerning where they worked and attended school.
2004 -- The Triwizard Tournament was held once more, at Beauxbatons Academy. Students from Hogwarts, Firenze and Beauxbatons all participated. The champion was Elaine de Lorme, of Beauxbatons.
2005 -- Vampires and werewolves started to abuse their new freedoms. Killings increased, for muggles and wizards alike, Daemon Silvasi being one of the largest causes.
Late 2006 -- Giovanna Nero returned to England and gathered together those who used to be called Death Eaters. Their numbers grew and she created a new 'Dark Mark'. They aimed to take away the rights of the vampires and werewolves and to further get rid of them entirely. Also at this time, The Revolution gathered together against the Death Eaters, led by Daemon Silvasi.
Early 2007 -- When the Order found out about the Death Eaters' return as well as the existance of The Revolution, they banded together once more, acting as peacekeepers in this time of war.
September 2009 -- New laws have been put in place at Hogwarts, segregating the staff and students who are werewolves and vampires from the rest of the school during classes.
Late 2009 -- The Triwizard Tournament was hosted at Hogwarts once again, with extreme security measures set in place.
Spring 2009 -- The Triwizard Tournament was cancelled after the second task when one of the champions was kidnapped, supposedly by Death Eaters.
2010 -- The war between the TR and the Death Eaters continued. The Death Eaters continued to infiltrate the Ministry and gain control of Hogwarts.
Fall 2011 -- The Death Eaters have taken over the ministry. It's not been stated specifically, but the ministry has enacted Death Eater legislation and made Halfbreeds and Muggleborns alike outlaws in the eyes of the state.
