Trent was in awe, practically getting whiplash from trying to see everything that was going on around him. When it was his turn to get sorted, he tripped on the way up but that did nothing to dim the bright, excited smile on his face. He was not sitting there for very long before it proclaimed him a Gryffindor like his brother and father before him.
He was quick to join his new table, sitting next to his older brother. He beamed with pride, stoked to have his brothers approval. "Thanks Dean. I hope Mama isn't too disappointed that I am not a Slytherin like she was." That was unlikely given how loving his mother was but the worry was still there. He then watched as one of his best friends was sorted into Hufflepuff but a handful of his other friends were now Gryffindors like he was.

It was sweet of Trent to worry about his mom's feelings, though Dean doubted if Abelia would be too bothered. "Nah, she won't be. She knows you're perfectly suited for Gryffindor." Still, who knew - some parents wanted their offspring to follow in their footsteps.
He glanced at Harrison, who was chatting about Quidditch with Apinya. It seemed they would be his teammates this term. "Have either of you ever played as Beaters before?"
Min didn't really care enough to congratulate anyone on their children being sorted, but he did clap for each of them, and smiled at the respective professor when their offspring was sorted -- particularly given how it seemed that all of them were sorted into the houses they would've been hoping for. No Gryffindor parent getting a Slytherin child, at least not as far as he could tell. He could be wrong, though. He didn't really keep up with his coworkers' houses that much.
It still felt strange to be coworker with the same people that used to be his professors, but he'd grown more accustomed to it now. He still found it a bit difficult to socialize with them, though, so he didn't initiate conversation, instead just focusing on the ceremony.
All teachings are mere references; The true experience is living your own life. Then, even the holiest of words are only words.

No less than three Burkes were starting at Hogwarts this term, although Preston knew he would not be seeing much of his nephews unless they came to visit him at the North Tower. He also doubted if Thalia would appreciate it if he approached her for a chat in the corridors... She seemed to be at the stage where anything her parents did or said in the presence of her peers was a mortifying spectacle. Still, he was certain that she would start coming to his office once the initial excitement about school wore off.
He clapped for every decision of the Hat, no matter what house was announced. Nonetheless, he was proud to watch his daughter head for the Slytherin table - and even his nephew, which was a bit of a surprise. He would be dispatching a messenger Patronus to Pansy after the feast; she was likely to feel similarly amazed, especially after putting so much effort into reconciling Thalia with the idea of being in a different house than either of her cousins.
After the Sorting, he indulged in the delicious dishes, though his wandering eyes kept seeking out his family members. Ella seemed to be a little upset, as did Dustin. No wonder - the twins must have expected to be placed in the same house, but ended up in polar opposite ones. Thalia appeared to be endeavouring to console and distract Dustin - so sweet of her. He was glad to see some older students engaging the two in conversation as well. Leo Rutherford, a newly-appointed Prefect, was known for his amiable personality; Octavian Corvus, a model student and an exemplary Prefect, had countless connections in different houses and school years. The pair of them was bound to set the younger students at ease. He watched them chat, noting - with some bemusement - the uncharacteristic clumsiness on Thalia's part when she tipped over a cup. Perhaps she was feeling more anxious than he'd thought...

Septimus watched idly as the little firsties were sorted into various houses. He didn't envy them being sorted by the hat whilst he had been by a scarf. It looked old and raggedy. He couldn't imagine what sort of things it picked up from some childrens hair. He smiled nicely enough though as new students were sorted into Ravenclaw.

Ella looked a little sad but Blaise felt it too. Obviously not as much as she did, though, but he was really looking forward to being dormmates with Dustin!
"No, sorry. But since they start tomorrow, we'll probably get the schedule tonight I hope. I don't want to be late for our first classes tomorrow!" Blaise didn't know anything but he did look up to his mum at the high table. Unfortunately she wasn't looking back at him. If they were at home, he would have just gone over to her and asked but they were at Hogwarts and he thought that would be a little weird to do that right now. It didn't seem appropriate somehow, or at least, it would just draw a lot of attention to the fact that he was her son. Of course, everyone probably knew that anyway, but that didn't mean he needed to have everyone focus on it.

Apinya was suddenly getting hugged from behind. She wanted to throw them off but then she realized who it was. Ughh. She would endure it. Only because if she didn't, Nicha would go crying to her parents probably to say how Apinya was being a bad big sister.
"Yeah, uh, me too." Such a lie. "Thanks, I hope so too." Well that was true. She did hope she would have a good last year at school. But also.. how was it her last year in school?! That really crept up on her. But she wasn't sure if it would be good. At least she was a Beater now, finally. It was the only position she wanted to play and it finally opened up. She never joined as a Reserve because she didn't want to have to play any of the other positions. She just wanted to hit things.
Other than Quidditch, though, this year would be very difficult and stressful and she lost her two best friends. One was just absolutely distant and she hadn't seen him yet and the other was transferred off to Xanadu. She hated that she wasn't allowed to go too, but it wouldn't make much sense during her final year at Hogwarts, her parents said. But Chatri still did. But as her parents said, well that was his parents' decision and if they wanted to mess up their son's education then that was on them. But Apinya missed him. A lot more than she thought she would. She was just starting to... Not let her thoughts go down that path, actually, so she paid attention to others at her table now that her little sister was thankfully gone.
"Yeah," she said to the small boy who she would be a Beater with. Just great. He was so little. She better do better than him, at least. "I guess I'll see you in practice, then." He seemed a little too cheery for her taste but hopefully he would do decently at least. Beaters always had to be able to work together. But of course, that didn't mean they had to be best friends and hang out. He was so young so that would probably be strange, even if he wasn't so peppy.
"Yeah we'll definitely work on it. Gotta win this year." Or at least do better. Gryffindor had been doing very badly the last few years at Quidditch. They had to try to turn it around.
Then Dean was questioning her abilities as Beater. Yes, it was a little strange for someone to join the team in their seventh year, but she obviously passed the tryouts. "Not officially. But I've always wanted to," she said before taking more bites of her meal.
((NICHA SAENGMAI - The P is actually pronounced as an F, so it would probably make more sense to call her Finnie? I mean she still won't like it, though. xD))
InSuk didn’t know the words to the school song, and it didn’t seem like she was the only one. Everyone was singing at a different pace. It was pure chaos and it was funnier than it had any right to be.
Hogwarts was just as spectacular as her grandmother said it would be. The view from the village hadn’t done the castle justice. Being close to it and then going inside it was like stepping into a part of magical history. She needed to write her mother and father as soon as she got to her new dormitory, but that would have to wait because her head was a little itchy and she wondered if maybe just maybe that old hat had bugs in it.
“I’m sorry to bother you…. do you know how many people have gotten lice from that hat? Or if the hat writes its own little songs? It was quite good.” She didn’t know if that hat was alive. It sure sounded alive when it was telling her where it wanted to put her. Still, it didn’t have arms and magical world or not, she had never heard of talking hat shampoo.

Nisha had done it! She'd been sorted into Ravenclaw just as she had always knew she would be she almost floated to the table joining new and old students alike but she overheard a question asked by INSUK HA which made her turn two earthy brown colored eyes back to the hat, "Lice? Hmm, I would think lacewing flies before lice but that's a interesting theory," she pushed a loose piece of hair behind her ear, "oh..yeah, sorry, Nisha Bakshi..and the song was pretty nifty."
