The front gates include a drawbridge over the river. This is where the deliveries are prepared so that the protective barrier doesn't have to be down for very long.
The Great Hall is where all of the meals are eaten. There is a small platform at the back, just like at Hogwarts, where the senior Ministry officials eat (Minister, Senior Undersecretary and Dept Heads). For everyone else, there are two long tables. All together, it can fit 70 people at once. The Great Chamber is located through a door in the back right corner.
Once a bedroom fit for a king, this has kept the same design, but has been repurposed for a living area. The fireplace remains, as well as two alcoves by the windows. Otherwise, there is a small dining table that can fit twelve people and various sofas and comfortable chairs and tables around the room. It is a popular place to have dessert and socialize after dinner. The Treasure Room is located through a door in the back. Often, this ends up being the entrance for anyone arriving by Floo Network.
There are five towers. One is for the Owlery, one is for the orphanage and small pool at the bottom, and three were build for bedrooms, thirty in each one. They are rather small, but they do the job.
The parapet walk is the walkway along the main walls. There is no need for lookout soldiers, but the walkway gives a nice view of the lawns, forest surrounding the castle, and the muggle homes beyond. It is popular for socializing with friends.
The Bailey is the open grass area in the middle of the castle. It is in a pentagon, just like the castle walls. Along the inner walls are the various tents for shop stalls. Otherwise, it's a lovely space for relaxation. There are a few benches and trees newly planted.
The Lawns stretch all the way round the castle. The protective barrier is a bit away from the castle to give people room to wander about on the lawns and get to see some nature. It is all clear - just a grassy field - as all the trees that surround Holt Castle's area are beyond the protective barrier.
