Welcome to TB, an all levels Harry Potter roleplay with no word count. Our purpose is to go through the books with one exception: the addition of original characters and what changes that makes.
We accept all beings and creatures in the Harry Potter verse including ghosts, veela, muggles and even centaur.
We have many active events ongoing for both students and adults and many characters and locations around the world.
Come join us and discover how your character can grow and evolve in the world of Harry Potter.
I wish to ask a few questions concerning my character, and because they are multiple and timeline related, I just thought that it would be easier to ask it here as I am still uncertain who is the residential lore-master concerning these types of stuff.
My questions, chronologically in the timeline:
1. My goblin started to work at the ministry of magic at some point after the second wizarding war. What kind of time frame would such a thing be possible with the reforms I have been talked about? Around the year 2000? Later? He was motivated to bring change after the fall of You-Know-Who, so he would have been quick to jump on board when the option presented itself.
2. My goblin got promoted to the head of the goblin liaison office after working at the ministry for quite some years. Which of the former prime ministers would have supported this kind of change from the standard, or could have been forced to do this to keep the (always unhappy) gaggle of goblin bankers somewhat happy despite all of the stuff that seemed to have happened in recent years.
3. There seems to be a war, or conflict, against Italy? Is this the wizarding community, I take? Is there a thread that speaks about this in more details that I missed, or could someone give a quick recap, as such a thing would most likely have been a concern of my character when he worked at the department.
This is all for now, there might come more when my mind thinks up of more relevant questions of enough importance to ask about!

So it started in 1999 but for sure 2000 he would have been fine to have started working there then.
You mean Minister not Prime Minister, right? (PM =Muggle.) I think your safest bet was Emily Burke. Before her was an unstable man who declared war on Italy and made it seem like they were defending even though they were the aggressors. Then Emily for a bit. Then blood purist after that. They would have just kept allowing him to be there afterward but I don't see Whitlock approving the promotion as much as Burke. So 2006-2007.
The war with Italy is long over. There were various events that led up to it happening. It was from 2002-2005. Emily Burke became Minister in January 2006 or so and stopped the war then.
Events:
-- An Italian assassinates the Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot and the Head Auror. -- Secret passageway between Firenze and Hogwarts was found. This isn't common knowledge, though, so I don't think the Goblin office would have gotten that information. -- An Italian blew up Diagon Alley the previous year (well, 3 shops in it). Having nothing to do with Italy as she had moved to England and grew up there since 1991 and all her acts were to do with blood purism stuff but the Minister kinda lumped her in there.
It was pretty clear after a couple of years that he was really pushing for this war. Forced enlistment too and people were just getting sick of it. Harry quit and started posting open letters in the Quibbler denouncing Thawley and accusing him of doing this for a personal reason and not because Italy was really being aggressive towards England.
He was assassinated later (common knowledge is that it was by Harry Potter). Then the blood purists came in. But they played everything pretty smart. Not taking by force, slowly taking over and then all of a sudden they're all in power and such. They didn't start firing anyone who's not pureblood because that would have started an uprising. So I could see them keeping him on because it would look extra good for them. If you want to say that for your backstory with him or what not.
Right now, all the purebloods were fired because a muggleborn extremist took over the Ministry essentially and threatened to release a wizarding plague that would kill all witches and wizards and generally humanoid magical creatures too (so yeah, goblins are not safe lol) if the purebloods stepped foot inside the Ministry again. So at least he's safe for now. xD
