Hestia here is Joel’s lovely wife <3

They met 10 years ago in the summer of 2012 when they were both on vacation in Italy. They literally ran into each other when they both rounded a corner and collided. After a few seconds of apologies and laughter, they agreed to buy each other a coffee as an apology then ended up spending most of their vacations together.

After a year of dating and experiencing his recklessness and violent tendencies whenever he drank (he never hit her but did punch walls, smash things, kick in doors etc), she gave Joel the ultimatum of either keeping her or keeping alcohol but he couldn’t have both. That was the last time Joel drank and thanks to Hestia, Joel has been sober for 7 years (as of November 2022)

A year to the day after her ultimatum, Joel proposed and they got married in a small intimate backyard wedding with just family 4 months later in March 2014. It was the happiest day of his life! Well, until she told him she was pregnant in July 2015.

They have two children now - a biological daughter named Hermia who was born 15th March 2016 and an adopted son named Jake who was born 29th August 2016, though they did not adopt him until September 2018 (with Hermia only being 6 months older than Jake they basically have twins). Hestia’s pregnancy with Hermia had been a rough one and unfortunately resulted in her being unable to safely carry any other pregnancies to term, which was why they started discussing adoption as a possibility for extending their family and eventually led them to Jake.

Her career and personality is entirely up to you! They live in Whitby, England. Joel is a magizoologist though has significantly cut down on his travel since having kids and works from home and London as much as he can so he’s around as much as possible.
