His first report. It was exciting, to be writing about a magic spell rather than solving algebra.... How he hated algebra... The transition from one-on-one tutoring to being a member of a class had been smoother than Yuri had been worried about. It was almost refreshing not having a teachers focus on you the whole time. Not that he was one to slack off, but not having every mistake consistently pointed out made learning a whole lot more enjoyable. Plus, magic! How could magic not be fun? It still felt like a dream. One he did not want to wake up from.
The library had quickly become a safe haven for him. It was calming and held more knowledge about this world then he could ever really learn. Not that he wasn't going to try. Plus, it gave him so many ideas for his future writing.
Walking down the stack of shelving, his eyes finally landed on the book he wanted, about a shelf higher than he could reach. But instead of using the spell he had just been learning like a smart wizard, his mind reverted to muggle thinking of standing on his toes to try and reach the tome. Without much luck. Open

Lottie liked the Library. She liked to learn about more advanced things. She was honestly really excited about taking extra classes next year. She always wanted to learn about ancient runes but her parents really didn't know anything about them, being athletes. So sometimes she went to the library to read a little bit about it. Unfortunately she couldn't do that on this day, however, as she had to write a paper for potions class on the properties of certain ingredients. It was really boring. She liked brewing potions more than writing about them for sure, and she wasn't entirely sure of the use of it. Though potions was by far her favourite class in general, so that might have been a factor too.
She was busy trying to find a book for her essay when she saw someone struggling to grab one from up high. Why did they even have shelves that high? Did they not know that kids went here? She pondered for a moment and then thought about helping with a bit of magic. "Wingardium Leviosa," she said softly as she waved her wand and the book floated down towards Yuri's hand.
It took a moment for her to realize that maybe he didn't want her to do that. "Oh, sorry. I hope that's alright?" They had a few of the same classes together and Lottie hoped that he wouldn't mind her helping. Maybe they even could help each other out with their essays.
