SECRET SOCIETY AT BEAUXBATONS
This has existed for a long time. It was a plot that was in timeline1 (2006-2009) and carried over into timeline2 as well.
Beauxbatons has a secret society of old wizarding families. They have strong ties politically, are very wealthy and can easily pull strings, if they wish. Their children get the best education before Beauxbatons and are treated very well while at Beauxbatons. If you've seen the Beauxbatons boards, you'll see that there is a 'Secret Wall' in the cave. Only the families of this secret society know about the cave. It's been a heavily guarded secret for hundreds of years and no one is about to break it now. To get into the secret cave, a drop of blood must be placed on the wall and only works for those who have the genetics of one of the families. I'm sorry, but there will be no breaking this now from outsiders.
INSIDE THE CAVE is a neat little getaway - some sofas, cushions - like a comfy den for teenagers. There's an old record player and they have a small stash of wine. Only those in the family who are 13 and older are told about the secret so they can be more trusted (so don't worry about 11 year olds having access to wine, etc.).
THERE ARE FOUR FAMILIES who make up the Secret Society: Fontaine, Deveraux, Lacroix & Renard.* Only those who have the name keep the legacy, so those who marry off and branch out would not be in the secret society. This also keeps it relatively small, which is necessary, of course.
BLOOD PURITY isn't important to them, though they are all half-blood or pureblood due to their history in the wizarding world. Muggleborns wouldn't be possible because of this.
THE SOCIETY is actually called The Society, since they're so old, prestigious and quite arrogant. Technically, it is called 'La Société'.
