It was a few weeks after all the students had arrived and although the castle was a little crowded, everyone was getting used to their new routines. But now, during dinner, the Goblet of Fire was put out for everyone to put their name in. Some people didn't waste time and tried to find some parchment to write their name down and put it in, while others waited for the end of dinner, or even on another day.
((This is how you sign up for the Dodecawizard Tournament! Just post having your character put their name in. There is an age line and they must be 16+ as of the current date. So if their birthday isn't until October 31st, that means they need to wait until that day to put their name in.
The Goblet was put out during dinner on October 24th. In your post, please also say what date your character is putting their name in so you can interact with people who are doing the same day.))

[October 25th - Morning]
Yesterday, when the Goblet had been brought out, Silvia did not have any parchment on her. Therefore, she just watched as people walked forward to place their names inside, wondering which ones would be selected. Today, she arrived with her information already inscribed on a piece of paper, in tidy cursive.
Her recurring fantasy about the tournament was that she would get selected as a champion - of course, as it wouldn't be much of a fantasy otherwise. She would be successful at every task, getting the highest scores. International newspapers would feature her among the favourites to win. And she would win. People back at Hogwarts would learn about it from the Daily Prophet, and talk about her with some envy and admiration. Perhaps Aiden would find out about her fame as well, and-- Her mind would always shut down the daydream at that point, as garnering such hopes was futile.
She approached the goblet, which had a small crowd of students around it - most of them not old enough to partake in Dodeca. They let Silvia through as she drew near. Stepping over the age line, she reached up and dropped her note into the Goblet.

People were watching her, she could feel it. The knowledge made her skin tingle; the blonde tried not to show any discomfort, and instead display an easy air of confidence - which was not that easy, given that she had to try.
Though breakfast was being served, she did not feel hungry at all. She walked to the door, keeping a steady but unhurried pace. Her mind resumed the daydream that began with her name coming out of the Goblet of Fire.

[night of the 25th]
Pepper had been debating. She didn't have any love towards her new school, but she also didn't hate them. She just felt so mixed with all of this. But her family was already disappointed with her. She wasn't a Quidditch captain. She wasn't a prefect. She was just a pawn at this point. How was she not enough for anything?
But still, looking at the goblet, she decided it was try. Might as well go for it, right? She wrote her name on a piece of paper. And when no one was around, she slipped her name into the goblet. This would be fine. She kept telling herself it would be. There was no reason for it to not be fine.

Ares strut into the Dining Hall, parchment already in hand. This was inevitable. Of course he was going to put his name in. Ares walked up to the Goblet of Fire at the front of the room and dropped the parchment in.

Then he turned saw someone nearby who looked like she had just put her name in. It was the same girl he saw the previous night at the welcome feast. He walked up to her casually. "Hello again, pretty one. You put your name in too?" His smile was rather charming to most, though it very likely wouldn't affect Silvia, and he would have known that if he knew anything about what happened to her over the last half year.

Mathieu didn't want to be part of the rush of students all clamouring to put their name in on the first couple of days. It appeared he had not been the first with the idea either as more people put their names in as days passed. He bided his time a little longer before putting the parchment with his name in.

It was going to be interesting to see who the goblet would end up choosing but that was still a couple of days away yet.

[Oct 24th - after dinner] To his merit, Tobias had at least waited until he was done eating before writing his name on a piece of parchment and going to the Goblet of Fire. Others wanted to wait and not be the very first. Tobias had no such qualms. He had arrived knowing he intended to put his name in so why delay it? He wasn't exactly the shy sort either.

[October 24th - After Dinner]
Desiree had known before they had even arrived at Firenze that she would be entering her name in the Goblet of Fire, and so saw no reason to wait any longer to enter. The crowd didn’t deter her either. She wasn’t necessarily the first, but she was one of the first few once dinner was mostly completed, strutting to the goblet with her head held high, reveling in all eyes on her. She’d made sure that day to look her best. After all, she had a reputation to maintain, for both her family and her school.
She waited outside the age line for a moment as another boy placed his name in, flashing him a smile when he turned to leave, before it was her turn to enter her name.

And just like that, it was done. Her piece of parchment disappeared into the flames, and she turned back to return to her table, feeling a twinge of excitement as well as nerves at the prospect of being made Champion for her school.

[October 26th - Midday. ]
Like so many others here from different schools, Calvin wanted to try his luck with participating in the games. It was the whole purpose he, along with the other schools, were here to represent their school at the chance of eternal glory. A though which had pondered the young Augustine for some time now since arriving at Hogwarts.
Wearing his sleek school robes, Calvin made his way toward the Goblet of Fire holding in his left hand a piece of paper with his name on it. He stopped just before the goblet and opened the paper to confirm it was his name as he kissed it and placed it into the fire feeling the warmth radiate around him.
A small smirk and a small shrug of his shoulders saw him walking to a nearby seat to see if anyone else would be interested in entering their name into the Goblet.

[October 27th - Morning, After Breakfast]
It had been three days since the goblet was brought out and the announcements made. Of course, it wasn’t like Chatri didn’t know that it was going to happen. It was really why he returned back to Xanadu for the school year. He didn’t think that he would get picked for champion, but it was an interesting thought in its own. When he had gotten news that the tournament would include Xanadu this year, he knew he had to go back to his home school. It was upsetting to leave Apinya (again, though this time, he was doing the leaving and not her), but it was all right for now. Chatri could settle with letters, and floo calls. Seeing her in person would be best but until the year was over (and he could really run off to see her then), Chatri would be a little patient.
He’d enjoy his 7th year the best he could. And that plan included potentially getting selected for the Dodeca Tournament.
The wizard rummaged through his pockets, looking for a piece of parchment and a quill. He had been anxious when he left his dorm this morning, and hadn’t thought to prepare one before he stood before the goblet. As such, it takes him a moment to find a sliver of parchment, and he scribbled his information down with a quick hand.

Chatri paused for a second, staring down at his scrawl before he nodded to himself.
He threw it into the goblet.

[October 27th - Morning]
Maggie was not ready to be awake but she had put off putting her name in the goblet for far too long now. She groggily made her way down to the great hall, taking a peice of parchment out of her bag when she reached the goblet. She tossed the paper with her name on it into the goblet. She was anxious that she could be chosen, but she knew if she was to be chosen that she would do a good job of making her school proud, after all she was a hard worker, and a people pleaser to boot.

It was the night of October 31st but no one was excited about Halloween as much as they were for the Goblet of Fire reveal. Except perhaps the younger years. The Dining Hall was decorated with many floating pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns.
Dinner started and everyone was still very anxious for the Goblet to announce the Champions for the Dodecawizard Tournament. Their lives would forever be changed, but also especially in the next year. Anyone who was Champion would have a lot more than OWLs or NEWTs to worry about.
The Goblet always announced the Champions when it was good and ready. It was an hour into dinner and most people were done eating and just sitting and chatting. Finally, the Goblet shot to life, the flames rising higher, and the whole Dining Hall went silent within 5 seconds. No one had to tell them to be quiet.
The Headmaster got out of his seat and walked towards the Goblet, ready to catch the first name when it came out. It took another few seconds and then shot out the first name.
"Pepper West, Xanadu!" he exclaimed. "Please follow the Deputy to my office." The Deputy found Pepper and then they walked out of the Dining Hall and towards the Headmaster's Office. Various professors were ready to escort each of the Champions out of the room and towards the Headmaster's Office. Most of them would return after, but the Deputy and Headmaster would remain there.
A second name shot out from the Goblet and the Headmaster caught it again. "Emma Jones, Augustine!" Another professor escorted her out of the room.
"Desiree Fontaine, Beauxbatons!"
The next few shot out in quick succession. The Champions hadn't quite left the room yet when the next one was called.
"Calvin Klein, Augustine!"
"Silvia Stirling, Dahshur!"
"Henri Fontaine, Beauxbatons!"
There were suddenly a lot of murmurs from the Beauxbatons. The other students didn't all know each other super well yet but the Beauxbatons students knew that Henri and Desiree were actually siblings. And they would have to compete against each other!
All of the Augustine and Beauxbatons Champions were announced already, so while there was a bit of a lull, the Beauxbatons and Augustine Headmasters and Headmistreses left the Dining Hall and made their way to the Headmaster's Office.
Then the Goblet shot out another parchment, announcing the next Champion. "Azra Yilmaz, Dahshur!" That was it for Dahshur as well, so the Headmaster went with Azra.
"Tobias Alvarez, Selveira!"
Then the Goblet wanted to get the rest out because they all came quickly after another, with only about fifteen seconds between them.
"Manuel Alves Pereira, Selveira!"
"Chatri Daeng, Xanadu!"
"Maggie Holt, Firenze!"
"Ares Crivelli, Firenze!"
Last but not least, the Firenze Champions. Of course, they got the most applause since they had the most peers there who knew them.
At this point, all of the Headmasters and Headmistresses of the other schools were gone. The Headmaster of Firenze also briskly walked out of the Dining Hall and headed towards his office, where everyone was waiting.
The Deputy had returned by then and took over and let everyone know they can finish up or go back to their common rooms if they were done eating. Some stayed to finish up or chat with each other about what happened, make predictions about the outcomes, and generally gossip about who was chosen and who was not. Others walked off to their common rooms, mostly doing the same thing.
((First Task will be soon.
The four extra Champions are available for anyone to play who doesn't already have one. Three will be added to the canon list soon. One is a Wanted Ad.))

Ares wasn't too surprised at being chosen. He got up with a smug look on his face and walked out of the room. It was a shame the Firenze students were called last, but at least they got the most applause. Any logic would dictate that was only because there were mostly Firenze students there, but Ares still thought it was great how much applause himself and Maddie got.

Silvia's heart leapt all the way to her throat when her name was called. She wanted to be chosen, of course, and she had imagined the moment many times... but she had not truly expected it to happen. It felt almost surreal.
Her schoolmates were applauding dutifully, though she couldn't help but wonder if they felt resentful. She hadn't been a student at Dahshur for even three months yet, while others studied there since first year. And yet she was chosen to represent them. It seemed unfair somehow, just like it must have seemed unfair for Xanadu students to learn that both of their champions would be recent Hogwarts transferees. This seemed an odd coincidence - a school that did not participate seemed to have three champions nonetheless.
When a professor beckoned for her to follow, she rose from her seat. Her whole body was atingle with excitement and it felt like walking in a dream. She barely registered the way to the Headmaster's Office, her mind tumbling through disconnected thoughts full of joy, hope and anxiety. This was a once in a lifetime chance, and she got incredibly lucky. The Goblet deemed her worthy! Perhaps her luck would even extend so far as to help her win the whole thing.

One by one the names were being called out. The anxiety and tension in the small room filled up rather quickly as Calvin, along with the others already there, sat in silence waiting for the names to be pulled out of the Goblet. He too clapped along with everyone who's name was being called out as he eagerly awaiting for his school champion to be selected.
A smile appeared on his face as he closed his eyes and clapped his hands upon hearing his name be called out to represent the school. Things were going to be different. His goal now was to win and at the same time, work on himself. He gave a bow to the staff along with his Headmaster as he followed through the other champions to await the next steps.

Desiree tried to act shocked when her name was called, but in her mind such a decision was inevitable. Of course she would be chosen. With her skills, her reputation, and her family name, she was the best choice to represent Beauxbatons by a long shot. She stood from her table with a proud smile, flipping her hair off her shoulder, and followed her escort to leave the Dining Hall.
As they walked towards the exit, a few more names burst out of the goblet, but nobody of note to Desiree. She had very little interest in engaging in social niceties with her competition; she was only there to win. It was only at the last name that she paused in the Dining Hall doorway, turning around to watch her own brother stand up in response to his name being called. Her smile faltered, her surprise evident for a moment on her face, before she composed herself. How did this happen? She was to be the champion in the family. Not him. And definitely not both of them.
Yes, sure, both of them as champions was great for the family name, but she wanted to be the one to bring home the victory and the glory. Now her moment would be sullied as she would have to share the spotlight with her little brother. Still, she had to maintain her image, and so she waited for her brother to join them with a bright smile, ever the picture of the proud sister, before continuing to make her way out of the Dining Hall to join the other champions.
