Ares was glad he did okay against the Boggart. It was pretty basic, but he had nasty luck the first task when it came to spells, and he got very burned in the last task as well.
He went forward after defeating the creature since there was no other direction other than backwards and then had to decide on a direction again. He decided to go left, hoping it would lead to something good and not another creature.

SILVIA ODETTE STIRLING went right and found herself at a dead end with a puddle on the ground. That was odd, since there didn't seem to be a source of water. Also, all the walls, floors, and ceilings were flat. How did they get a puddle there?
((Normally dead ends will just send you back to the spot you were at before, but you have the opportunity to interact with the puddle if you'd like, or you can go back to where you were before. When you want to go back, you can just say that she went back to the last fork in the road (or something like that), rather than saying a specific direction.))
CALVIN KLEIN went forward and came face to face with a troll!
ARES CRIVELLI went left and then his path went automatically left. He reached a dead end with a puddle on the ground. That was odd, since there didn't seem to be a source of water. Also, all the walls, floors, and ceilings were flat. How did they get a puddle there?

The dead end was to be expected, since it's been a while since Silvia walked into one. But the puddle... how did it get there? She neared it carefully, suspecting that she was wasting precious time but unwilling to leave without seeing if there was some secret there. Her eyes went up automatically, searching the ceiling for a leak. Was there a hidden entrance to the upper floor somewhere near? How could she find out?
Uncertainly, she held the flag close to the water. Perhaps it would do something interesting. Hopefully not quite as interesting as making a dangerous creature leap out of the puddle. Or perhaps it would just diminish her lead into nonexistence...

Desiree had barely moved forward into the maze when she was confronted with an acromantula. She swore under her breath. It seemed her luck had not changed and this task would be just as challenging as the last two. She couldn’t recall any specific spell that should be used to counter an acromantula, so decided to simply try and petrify it. She aimed her wand square to its chest and shouted “Petrificus Totalus,” hoping her spell would be powerful enough to freeze such a large creature.

SILVIA ODETTE STIRLING tried waving the flag near the puddle, but nothing happened. She thought maybe doing more than being just near the water would be a good idea.
TOBIAS ALVAREZ went forward for a bit. Right or forward?
DESIREE FONTAINE tried the full body bind on the acromantula and it worked! She kept walking and her path automatically turned right so she followed it and walked for a while. Left, right, or forward? She could hear CALVIN KLEIN nearby fighting a troll.

Ares came across a puddle at a dead end. That was odd. Why was it there? There wasn't anything in this maze that wasn't there on purpose. And it wasn't like they were on the ground where there might be a puddle naturally. There was no way this was an accident. Ares pondered it for a moment, unsure of what he should do.
((1 - Drops the flag / 2 - Does nothing, goes back / 3 - Drops the key / 4 - Does nothing, goes back / 5 - Drops the sapphire / 6 - Does nothing, goes back))
Ares tried to take out his objects, most of which were in his pockets. He fumbled a little when he was doing that and dropped the sapphire in the puddle, though. "Ughh." He let out a groan as he bent down to pick it up.

Silvia's intuition was fighting her fear of failure. "Stupid, stupid, stupid... you're wasting time," she murmured to herself in a low soothing voice, but couldn't seem to step away from the puddle. There had to be something important here, there had to be a reason for it. Feeling the spectators' eyes on herself and hoping she didn't look as ridiculous as she felt, the blonde waded into the puddle and submerged the flag, allowing it to drift away a short distance.

"You've gotta be pulling me leg mate. " Calvin whispered as he found himself face to face with an actual stinkin' troll! There was no way around it either, he had no choice but to fight his way through. It was bad enough having one of the other champions attack him let alone a troll. Grasping onto his wand, he prepared for battle. " Alright let's do this. "
Calvin's first decision was to disarm the troll but he knew it would take a lot more than a simple spell to disarm it. He had to be smart about this. His focus was to try and get rid of the weapon the troll had. "Arresto Momentum!" He called out trying to slow down the troll's movements before he moved onto his second spell. With the troll slowed down, he was able to move around the field a little bit more faster as he aimed his wand at the troll's weapon. "Depulso!" He yelled as he watched the weapon blast away into the distance. Finally, "Incarcerous!" He called out releasing a bunch of strong binds from the tip of his wand that aimed toward the legs of the troll causing the large beast to fall to the ground with a loud thud that shook the floor he was standing on. To end the battle, he aimed his wand at the trolls head before calling out a simple spell. "Stupefy!"
He had no goals of killing the troll but more so, making it unconscious, disarmed and slowed down so that he was able to pass through it. Dust flew into the air as his last spell was cast and he waited to see if his attempt of battle with a troll was successful.
((If anyone suddenly thinks to put water on their sapphire for no reason, that would be powerplaying, so it's not allowed. So you can't do that. Only if you found a puddle would your character think water might be important.))

This was doing no good, and now the flag was soaked. At least her boots were magically waterproofed, or she'd have wet socks too. Feeling annoyed with herself but unwilling to stop this apparent folly just yet, she grabbed the flag and placed the key into the water instead. Please, please, please let there be a purpose to this, she prayed.

Ares noticed that the sapphire was making a dull hissing noise. Was it supposed to do that? Not wanting to waste more time on the puddle, though, he held it as he walked back to where he last was. He had to turn right to get there and was a little careful not to come across a creature again. He held his wand forward with one hand and held the sapphire in his other hand, while the other objects were in his pockets. He even managed to stuff the flag in there, though it was a little difficult.

SILVIA ODETTE STIRLING decided to put the key that was now made of hardened sand into the water. Most wouldn't think that would be a good idea and it might disintegrate in the water. However, thankfully that was not what happened. Instead, the key turned to wood. This key had been through quite a few transformations so far. Silvia looked at the side of it and saw that it had an engraving: Lumos. Perhaps it could be used for that spell?
CALVIN KLEIN went forward and had to decide again. Right or forward?
ARES CRIVELLI went back to where he was. Right or forward?
