It was a relatively warm Sunday afternoon in September, and Rose found herself in her favourite place at Hogwarts: the Quidditch Pitch. Except this time she wasn’t taking the time to fly, or practice with one of her teams. No, this time, she was waiting for the rest of the students to arrive for her first ever Quidditch Club meeting as club leader. She was nervous, but also bubbling with excitement. Getting to spend time hanging out with friends, talking about her favourite subject ever? What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Once most members had arrived, Rose took a deep breath and shot some red sparks from her wand up into the air to get everybody’s attention. They were in a large field, after all, and so it could be difficult to be heard over the sound of multiple conversations. “Welcome everyone! For those who were in the club last year, you probably already know me, but my name’s Rose, and I’ll be the club leader this year.” She said all this with a slight puff of her chest, trying not to be intimidated by some of the older students staring back at her. “As most of you know, we always start the year by making our predictions for the coming season.”
With a wave of her wand, she passed out a piece of parchment to each member, complete with a list of the professional British, Scottish, and Irish Quidditch League teams, and the schedule of games for the regular season. “To start we’ll just make predictions for the winners of the games, but once we progress through the season and into playoffs, we’ll add in predictions for who catches the snitch, final scores, and some other wildcard categories.” A conspiratorial grin stretched on Rose’s lips, already planning some of those special add-ins, in the hopes of giving everybody a fair shot to win.
“If you’ll please write down your predictions on your piece of parchment and hand them back to me before you leave. And feel free to discuss with other members. Just remember, there will be prizes.” With that out of the way, she hopped over to join the other members, hoping to also engage in the discussion. As leader she was not allowed to win from her own predictions, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t join in on the fun. A lively debate was always welcomed, if not encouraged, in this club.

Don's favourite club was now led by his closest friend, which meant there was no way he would skip the term's first meeting. He even arrived on time, with his broom slung over a shoulder in case they were going to have a friendly game today. It turned out they would be doing something even better - betting!
Without a shred of hesitation, he marked the Ballycastle Bats as the winners in all their games. The rest of the list was not as easy. He followed professional Quidditch, but not enough to make predictions about each and every team - he mostly focused on the Irish League. "So who can tell me what the best Scottish team is?" he asked. "Oh, also, which of the English ones are decent? Other than the Chudley Cannons."
So many teams to choose from - it was a little overwhelming. Don glanced at Rose. "Aren't we also going to bet on who will win the Hogwarts Quidditch Cup? Of course, that one is easy to guess..." he grinned, confident as ever. Even though the Slytherin captain left the team, depriving them of a Seeker with an unbroken Snitch-catching streak of at least three years, Don was confident his team was going to continue winning.

Phoebe was pretty excited for this club meeting. Rose, one of her teammates on the Gryffindor team, was running it, and Phoebe was confident she would do a good job. It was nice to see the sport from the perspective of being a viewer of it and not a player. She’d really gotten into professional Quidditch over the past couple of years and loved making predictions.
On her piece of paper, she indicated that the Appleby Arrows would win nearly all of their games. They were the team Phoebe went for, and she thought they were amazing. What had started as a general liking just because they had a cool name, had turned into following each one of their games. The Holyhead Harpies were also excellent, a fierce team to watch. The rest of the teams were harder to make predictions for but she gave it a go. “The Appleby Arrows are really good, but I’m a bit biased. Puddlemere United’s pretty good as well if we’re talking English teams” she said to Domhnall. ROSE WEASLEY ,DOMHNALL MCEVOY

Whilst he enjoyed Quidditch a lot Levi wasn’t exactly the type to follow a team which almost made him feel like a fraud in the Quidditch club. Over hearing all the conversations about who would win in the next season always baffled him. “ I don’t really have a team I follow. Any recommendations? ” He replied to the others trying to converse with the group. He only joined to get better tactics from everyone else in the hopes of winning considering his team fell short last year.
