Evan has never been fond of parties or places where there would be lots of people. He feels uncomfortable while conversing with a group of people, even if they are his friends. He prefers to keep his friends circle small and generally avoids going for meetups with a group of friends. However, this party was different. This event was for kids. And considering himself as a self-proclaimed knight, Evan chose to attend this event over his inhibitions.
The music playing at the venue was soothing. Evan was wearing a black shirt coupled with a black coat and black trousers. He wasn't fond of wearing a tie and hence didn't fancy wearing one. Not the one to be the center of attraction, Evan tried moving towards a corner. He spotted some champagne being carried across on a tray just besides him. He took one glass and continued walking towards one side of the big room. He tried to look around to see if there were any familiar faces present.
This ball was incredibly to close for comfort. So many pulses and warm blood so close to him was making it difficult to restrain himself. It might be good training with his new job but standing here watching humans flit around was testing every last fiber of his being. For a moment he slipped to the back of the crowd and out of the tent for a moment, to sate both his hunger and the very real threat of his instincts taking over his sense. Luckily it seemed he was not completely out of luck tonight. Finding a way to both be present to show his 'support' while reigning himself in a little tighter.
When he slipped back inside the tent he had a wine glass in one hand, with a simple warming charm on it to keep a certain liquid inside from cooling down any. The red liquid was definitely not wine. As he took a sip some of the tension in his shoulders left him, not exactly making him approachable but enough. Even so the vampire didn't know anyone here. All of them to young to have known him before, not a single recognizable face among the crowd made him wonder why he had chosen to do this of all things. Socialization, he told himself, this is all to acclimate to a living populace.
The affair was out in the open now. It wasn’t what he had wanted. As he tried to forget the whole thing Marjorie eventually confessed. They tried to talk things out, but Liam had never done anything wrong to deserve the kind of pain that she was putting him through. The second his family found out it became even more of a nightmare. His sisters were furious and every time they looked at him their eyes were filled with pity. He hated it.
They somehow convinced him to attend the Winter Festival and the Charity Ball. His younger sisters loved the Festival and for a moment he was completely at ease. He was happy again because his family was happy. Of course all three sisters convinced him to win a prize for all of them. How could he refuse? They all headed to the Charity Ball, but they all seemed to split up along the way.
Liam was just wearing a simple black and white tux. His gaze landed on Marjorie Simmons. God, she was beautiful. He frowned, but was secretly relieved whenever another woman came up to talk to her. That meant they wouldn’t have to talk to each other. He didn’t know if he was ready for that. Sure, he missed her...

Charity ball
Lightly pulling Brooke out onto the dance floor, Cameo looked over his shoulder at her, and smiled. "You were a good friend, Brooke, and you're still the best friend I have ever had." he said sincerely. "I wish I had only not been dumb and seen what I had right there in front of me at that time. We could have had so much more time together." he said, thinking back on everything that had happened, and wondering why things had to have gone the way they had. The answer came to him in an instant. "As you have said before, though, what happened needed to happen in order for us to be happy now." he said, knowing she was right about all that. He just forgot it from time to time.
Reaching the dance floor, the music still slow and steady, for now, Cameo pulled Brooke in close, and began to lead them in a light waltz. "So, what do you think about this whole event so far? Having fun? Anything I can do to make it better?" he asked, just a little bit of mischievous nature slipping through in his tone.
It felt amazing to be back at home after spending time at Salem she was ready to have a good time with her boyfriend, Guarin. And what better way to do that than a Ball? He had missed out on the Yule Ball lasted year after all. It had been such a shame. This time Andrea really dressed up or it seemed that way to her until she saw other people. Andrea must have seemed so simple. As she looked around the tent for her boyfriend her eyes landed on someone else. ”You’ve got to be kidding me.” she said softly hoping that he hadn’t seen her as she walked away from her current position.

Brooke smiled at him and kissed him on the cheek. ”You know you have always been my best friend. But like I have said before what happened to make us a better couple. If we did not go through it we would not be here right now.” She firmly believed that. They needed to grow apart so that when the time was right they could grow together like they just were. ”As long as you put up with me, we can have as much time together as we want.” Brooke told him. She was not going to end things any time soon and she doubted that he would either.
Brooke moved into Cameo’s arms as he pulled her in for the dance. She was not the best dancer but with Cameo leading she felt confident and could do it. Hell if he was dancing there was not way she was not going to dance either. If anyone should feel like a crappy dance it was him but he was fine. ”You know what I was just thinking, If you can dance this well. When you get back on a broom you will have no problem flying.” She told him before answering his question. ”This event has been nice. Its great to give back to the community and help the kids.” She told him honestly. ”I am not sure what would make it better. Just spending the day with you, with out having to worry about grading and all of the nonsense of the castle has been great.” She added to him. She was curious what he had planned though because she could hear the tone change in his voice and knew he was up to something. You didn’t get to know a person as well as Brooke knew Cameo to not know when they were up to something. But figuring out that something was difficult.
Amelie inclined her head in response to the greeting, smiling. They hadn't been close, but it was still nice to see a familiar face. She snagged a champagne from a passing waiter, sipping before replying.
"I've been well. I managed to set up a quaint little shop here in Hogsmeade. I do miss teaching sometimes but...it was time for another change," she glanced around the room before returning her eyes to Marjorie, "And how have you been? Still teaching, yes?"
She gave the other woman a look over, taking in her formal wear with a glint of approval in her eye. If there was one thing she loved almost as much as Alchemy and men, it was fashion.
Guarin arrived separately from Andrea, more than ready for the formal date setting the ball would provide. In his own time, it was at gatherings like this that courting would have occurred. They had once been so numerous, now he was fortunate to find one every so often.
Wearing a formal set of robes, he stepped into the tent. Though he'd had centuries to discipline himself in large groups, he took the precaution of ceasing his breathing. He had no need of it, and he'd rather not be subjected to the scents that accompanied so many living beings in one space.
Already smiling pleasantly, he walked through the crowd with ease, exchanging greetings with those he knew and a few he didn't. Keen eyes searched the faces he passed for a glimpse of his beloved. After a few moments of looking, he found her moving through the crowd a short distance from him. His smile turning to something much softer than politeness, he excused himself and pushed through to meet her.
"Andrea," he called, just loudly enough to be heard, "I hope you weren't waiting too long."
Andrea had been attempted to escape her past whenever her future came calling. At first she was a bit confused. Who was calling her name, but it didn't take long for her to find him. Andrea hoped that she would always be able to easily find to man she loved, Guarin. She waved with a smile and walked quickly over to meet him halfway, "Hey." she smiled as she looked him up and down, "I would wait forever for you." She was aware of how cheesy that sounded because of how long they had already waited for each other and the fact they were vampires with all the time in the world.
If there was anything Marjorie could relate to, it was the need for a change. So much had happened in the past few months that she thought a change of scenery was much needed. Her eyes shifted to where she had spotted Liam moments before, but they quickly returned to the woman before her.
"Which shop might that be?" It was intriguing to hear that Amelie had switched from teaching to managing a shop, but if it was in Hogsmeade, she could always pay her a visit. "I'm teaching, yes. Still Dark Arts Theory. I've recently been working on a textbook for the class, and I'm hoping to complete it by the next year." Her life sounded quite boring compared to Amelie's.
"Oh, thank you," she said when the woman complimented her dress. "Your dress is absolutely stunning. Where did you purchase it?" As one who was not that invested in the fashion industry, Marjorie had to rely on form questions to carry the conversation. Granted, the dress was quite lovely, and she would have to consider purchasing one by the likes of it in the future.
Being by the Rossi family was getting exhausting, even if that kept him from his boss's clutches. His wife had been beautiful, and she was talking to his mother, so maybe he could slip away. He decided to take the liberty to do that as he walked around talking to some old friends who he hadn't seen in years, but his thoughts were soon preoccupied by a familiar face.
A face that he hadn't seen in a good twenty something years.
The man let out a sigh, and saw it was the face of his ex fiancee, a woman who he loved first. She was his everything, and that until the woman who he married came along and gave him his children. Lorenzo thought it couldn't hurt to talk, and not express any feeling he was happily married now, and he wanted to know how she was. Walking over he let out a smile, as he saw a man with her. "I must be the first to greet you guys tonight, both look incredibly stunning." he said with a grin.
Amelie was beginning to see a few more familiar faces. It was interesting, how many people she'd come to know during her time in England.
"I named it 'All that Glitters'. It is located here, in Hogsmeade. I thought it might be nice for students to have an easy place to purchase supplies they may need for Alechemy in the future. Of course, you may visit anytime. But, I warn you, it is quite small," this obviously was something that bothered her a bit, as told by her frown. The expression quickly changed when she heard what Marjorie was up to, turning to delight, "Marjorie! That is wonderful! A very good thing for a teacher to do, especially one who knows the subject like you. I hope that the students realize how lucky they are to have a professor so dedicated."
She took another sip of champaign, her dress shifting and sparkling. She glanced down at it when asked about it.
"I rather like it, too. I found it in Paris, when visiting my mother. She insisted on paying for it," she looked back to Marjorie, smiling, "It made her happy, so I let her. Even when we are adults, mothers sometimes like to spoil us, do they not?"
"Oh, I must drop by sometime. I can't say I'm all too familiar with alchemical pursuits, but I've always been intrigued by them." That held true for most magical subjects. Her focus was clearly in the Dark Arts, but magic was a wondrous thing she could not help but adore. From Amelie's frown, she could tell the woman was fond of the idea of having a small shop. "It may be small now, but it will likely grow in the future. We all start somewhere."
She had always been interested in research, and the natural progression appeared to be taking the research and molding it into something else. "You're too kind, Amelie."
Paris was a lovely city with even lovelier fashion. "That's very generous of your mother." Her eyes travelled to the table her parents sat, engaged in a deep conversation with another couple. How much of that was true interest, she could not say, but it had been a long time since they had talked to her candidly. Bringing her attention back to Amelie, she smiled. "Yes, our mothers do like spoil us on occasion. Are your parents here tonight?"

Swirling round to grab a flute of champagne, Winnie sipped it slow. The frizzante of the brut tickled her senses. Winnie gravitated towards drier whites, and champagne was no exception. Anything too sticky sweet usually gave her a headache.
She noticed Cameo and Brooklyn speaking amongst themselves and went to approach them when, from the corner of her eye, a slender figure dressed in black emerged from the crowd, although he looked like he was actively trying to avoid integrating amongst it. Smirking, she walked towards him and said, "My lucky stars... Evan?" Evan and Winn had worked together in the Order days. As far back as that was, his was a hard face to forget.

Charity ball
Okay, he was definitely still nervous, and the dancing and being this close to her was not helping with that.
If he was going to do this, then...he might as well do it and enjoy the rest of the night together, right?
Glossing over what she had said initially, he smiled at her compliment. "Well, I don't know about that. Dancing and Flying are pretty different, but I guess they share some similarities as well. I mean...nope, okay, almost went full nerd mode there. Not tonight." he said, with much chuckling. "You're right that this event has been nice, and helping out the kids has been wonderful. Did I ever tell you that for a moment there I almost became an orphan?" he asked her, the memory sharply coming to him, causing him to pause in their dancing for a moment.
"You know what? No, forget that, because I want to go back to something you just said a moment ago. That as long as I put up with you, we can have as much time together as I want. Did you mean that because if you did then marry me." he said simply, that mischievous grin back on his face.
