Dinner. To anyone else, it was an invite of no consequence. To Fabbio, it was a carefully crafted event. He'd painstakingly made sure everything went without a hitch and so far, it had. He'd cleared the large dining hall of clutter and filled it with a table longer than most would have ever seen, chairs tucked in neatley, set with intricate china and crystal glasses. But that would come later.
First, he needed to greet everyone - the receptiona hall would do nicely and he'd made sure there was an endless supply of drinks - laid out on trays on the table pressed against the wall. "Benvenuto, welcome everyone!" his voice boomed.
"Feel free to take a drink and mingle amongst yourself until dinner is ready." he suggested, moving to grab his own drink as he bowed his head. He would greet everyone one by one should he need to, for tonight was all about impressions. It was a architectured campaign. If he were going to run for minister, he needed to secure votes early - he knew that.

" So this is the Great Nero Manor." Rafe said in a rather dissatisfied tone. He had heard of the fortunes the Nero family had held but never suspected their wealth to be so humble. He had expected more than what was on show. Perhaps a vault hidden elsewhere filled with Galleons, everything covered in gold but it seemed like it was just a modern day family home. He shook his head at his own disappointment knowing darn well not to voice it should Giovanna herself be present in the Manor quickly dropping the thought out of his mind as he took a sip of drink.
Rafe had received an owl some time ago about this dinner and ensured his appearance would be present. The dinner almost felt like it was a calling of some reason. He knew he would expect to see some familiar faces here. The summoning was far too complicated. One could of easily asked for purists to arrive and have a whole lot of adult arrive.
Looking around, he helped himself to another drink as he began to examine portraits that hung on the wall as he finally placed himself on a seat waiting to see who else would arrive. " Will you be joining us Fabbio?" Rafe asked hoping the host would also join in with the crowds that were arriving.

Functions were never really high on his priority list as of late but this one would need to be. It wasn't often that Fabbio went all out and sent him a personal invitation, how could he refuse?
As he entered the large home, he moved to grab himself a drink, nodding his head in greeting to Fabbio and then found himself a dark and quiet corner. He had no intentions of making himself the center of attention. His wife had already snubbed him by refusing to attend with him, saying she'd arrive later - he didn't understand why women needed so long to get ready - he was sure she did it just to irritate him. He did, however, raise his glass in greeting to Rafe.

He returned Draco's nod, wondering what had possibly upset the man today. Funnily enough, he didn't care to ask. His gaze Returned to Rafe then as he picked up his own drink from a passing tray and closed the gap between them. "I hope it lives up to your expectations." he said, bringing his glass up to his mouth to take a long, slow drink. "I am joining you now." he pointed out after he'd lowered his drink once more, "I could hardly invite you all to this home and then leave you all to your own devices, hmm?" he asked, an amused smirk colouring his features.

Dorian had received an owl some time ago, with an invite for Dinner at the Nero Manor. Functions weren't all that much his thing, but he made it a point to attend this one in particular. It wasn't often that Fabbio would send him a personal invitation.
He entered the large Manor, taking in his surroundings Dorian, it was posh just like he'd expected it to be, he was not disappointed. "So, this is it huh?" he said, "The Grand Nero Manor". To Dorian, Nero Manor still paled in comparison to Payne Manor, he shook his head dropping that thought. He wouldn't want anyone, mostly Giovanna if she was present, to hear him even think that. That would likely be the last thing he ever did.
He grabbed a drink for himself, he walked looking around he saw familiar faces, "Fabbio" he greeted the man who'd invited him. "Lauren" he greeted the younger man, as he found himself a seat, he nodded to Draco in greeting, wondering what had upset the man.

Attending a formal function wasn't Preston's idea of a good evening, but Pansy had insisted that 'everyone who's anyone will be there'. He doubted they would all of a sudden become nobodies if they skipped it, but his wife was so eager he couldn't decline. Working at Hogwarts for ten months every year, with only rare visits home, meant he was willing to use every opportunity to spend time with her. Having obtained Eliza's permission, he left the castle early so he could get ready at home, and see his two young children.
Once the couple finally set out, one short Apparition jump brought them to the Nero Manor. The place was grand, clearly built to impress; he could see Pansy admiring the architecture, probably more aware of its quality than he was.
Some of the guests were already present. "Draco is here, but I don't see Astoria," Pansy whispered, causing Preston to glance at his beautiful wife quizzically. Was there some meaning he was expected to catch here? She gave him a look that meant he was missing something any sane person - or any sane woman, at least - would understand before turning her attention to the other guests.
She had greeted at least half a dozen of her friends before they approached the host. "Fabbio, thank you for inviting us," he spoke to the younger man. "Your mansion is magnificent," Pansy added.
"And Rafe - good to get out of the castle sometimes, isn't it?" Preston noted, only a little surprised to see his colleague here.
"Dorian, lovely to see you! I hope things are going well in your department?" Pansy appeared to know almost everyone here. Preston nodded a greeting to the man, who he guessed to be one of Pansy's Ministry acquaintances.

Iago always felt a sense of homecoming whenever he came to the manor which was hardly surprising. He had often been in the manor almost as much as he was in his own home. Many a social event had been held here and of course, he was friends with many of the Neros. "Good to see you, Fabbio," Iago greeted before greeting the others in attendance as was only polite. He did not see his friend Alessandro in attendance yet but supposed he might be along soon enough.

Theodore had a problem. His problem amounted mostly to curiosity. When he'd recieved an inviation to a dinner party from none other than Fabbio nero, his first thought had been to burn it. Then of course, his curiosity had gotten the better of him. Why was he being invited? What was it for? Like an itch, Theo just had to scratch it. He'd only go for an hour, he'd promised himself - just pre drinks to look and mingle with old friends. Nothing else. He wasn't going to get sucked in. He was just going to see - to look, to learn - that was it. What harm could a dinner party do?
He was grateful to see both Pansy and Draco there, it settled him some that he would at least have someone to skulk in the corner with should he need to. He nodded a greeting to Fabio, and then to Pansy before he moved to lean against the wall beside Draco, "Whats this?" he asked as he grabbed a drink, lifting it in greeting to Preston.

It always somewhat amused Pansy to see the man she had once been engaged to. Of course it had only been for a month and had been though the marriage program so there were zero hard feelings there. She was also quite curious to know where Astoria was. She knew well enough that Draco was unlikely to tell her though.
"Nice to see you, Iago and of course you too, Draco!" She greeted, rounding out her greetings to everyone. She made sure to give everyone some form of greeting. After all, she had a reputation as a social butterfly to maintain.
"Hello Theodore, why not take a sip and find out for yourself?" She teased as he address her husband. She gave Prestons arm an affectionate, little squeeze as she continued to take note of who was all in attendance. She knew her husband did not have much affection for these things as she did so she appreciated him coming along with her anyway.

"What does it look like, Nott?" Draco asked, his brow quirked.
It was good to see his old friends, even if he knew Pansy was very likely dying to chew on some gossip. Unfortunately, he had none to give her because just when he thought he'd gotten away with arriving along, his wife strolled in.
"Pansy, Theo." she said in greeting and then leaned forward to place a chaste kiss on Draco's cheek. "Husband."
Draco didn't even have a name now. Brilliant. "Hello, love." he said and reached to take her a drink from the nearby table and offer it, watching as she took it. "You should greet Fabbio, Astoria."

"Iago. Good to see you again." he greeted the man easily, giving his shoulder a pat before he nodded to both Dorian and Preston as they arrived. "Thank you all for coming." he said as was expected of him. Even if some of his guests seemed to be having their own troubles. He would laugh at Draco later and quietly. For now, he busied himself with conversation. "I hope you all travelled well? Whatever mode you chose." he then gave Pansy a small bow, "As Gracious as ever, Ms burke."

It seemed the summoning to this party location wasn't isolated to just one member of the Hogwarts Teaching staff. " Anything as grand as this is surely appreciated. " He responded to Fabbio with a half smirk on his face refusing to allow himself to show expression in his normal stoic demeanour.
His attention now focusing on the other guests that were arriving. Some familiar faces and some he had not yet seen before. One could only assume they too shared the same aspirations in life. " A pleasure as always Payne." He followed through his words with a slight nod of his head taking a sip of his drink as he attended to the other guests only to be stopped by another person.
" Preston. " He greeted the familiar face with a smile on his face. " What a pleasure to make your acquaintance outside of the castle. It surely is a pleasure to be exposed to some other people here. " He replied as he finally placed himself on a seat but only after greeting the Malfoys. " Pleasure to see you two again. "

Dinner parties were a regular pastime for those Purebloods who wished to maintain strong connections with their peers. However, Fabbio Nero did not often invite guests to events like this one. There had to be some purpose behind it, some reason to gather a certain group of people together. Alistair knew it would eventually be revealed, perhaps during this very evening. He would be there to hear it.
Dozens of guests were already present; Alistair greeted all those he knew - which was pretty much everyone. Finally, he joined the group surrounding the host.
"Fabbio, what a welcome surprise. It is good to see the Nero Manor hosting grand events once more." His attention shifted to Fabbio's company, which included an intriguing assortment of family names. "Rafe, Preston - I see Cunningham was gracious enough to release you from your duties today. I hope the culprit behind the Petrifications has been caught? All of us are so concerned for the safety of the Muggleborn students." He knew, of course, that the mystery had not yet been solved - it would have been all over the papers otherwise. "Pansy, you look splendid - as ever," he complimented, giving her a gentlemanly bow.
His eyes drifted to a corner where Malfoy was unsuccessfully trying to avoid everyone's attention. "Draco, and lovely Astoria - won't you be joining us?" It was strange to see the Malfoys outside of this circle that seemed to contain some of the most notable guests. "And Dorian, old friend, glad to see you here. I have convinced my daughter to join your department after graduation - she will be a capable Auror, I can promise you."

"Glad to know, Rafe." he said and took another drink before he bowed his head in greeting to Alistair, "Alistair, glad to see you could make it." he said and did a side step when Astoria brushed past him and away from Draco - belatedly greeting them as she went - he just nodded his head. He wasn't planning on trying to engage her in conversation with Draco already looking so sullen. "Ah yes, the petrifications, do tell, Rafe, is all resolved?"
