7 KNUTS
KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON
A year has passed since Giovanna Nero's display of a mangled Hermione Granger in the middle of Diagon Alley. While she hasn't committed a large attack or display since last September, she has continued to make small attacks all over Britain.
Each time, 'Mortenero' has been signed somewhere at the location. For the first six months, it was carved into the ground or a nearby building, though now the carvings have become red and very advanced magic has had to be used to remove it. In some cases, the place it was carved was simply destroyed or covered up.
The beginning of the attacks were mostly in wizarding homes or shops of those who are known to be sympathetic to muggles. However, Mortenero attacks have begun to happen to muggles themselves, making the Obliviators work extra hard to cover up the scene.
After many months of a large amount of the wizarding population believing that Mortenero is the work of Giovanna Nero, the Ministry has finally conceded, though they are still adamant in thinking that she is working for Italy in the war. Most witches and wizards are not convinced and while they agree that Italy poses a big threat to their country, they also think that Giovanna is another threat that needs to be dealt with. Many witches and wizards are in agreement with the forced enlistment Thawley enacted a couple of months ago, knowing that the country could use as many hands on deck in defending against foes from multiple fronts.
