WEREWOLVES RETURN TO HOGWARTS
After a couple of months of construction, the transformation habitat for the werewolf students of Hogwarts has been completed. As of May, werewolf students have been allowed back at Hogwarts.
Some parents have voiced that while they are glad their children are allowed back at Hogwarts, they won't be pulling them out of their current school until the end of the school year, so as to not disrupt their studies. Others have voiced that they are fully prepared to send their children back to Hogwarts right away.
Burke has stated that she understands the confusion of a May return, but wanted to give the option to the students nonetheless. She also stated that she will completely understand if parents wish to keep their children at other schools for the remainder of their studies, but hopes that they will return to Hogwarts in their homeland in September.

SAME SEX MARRIAGE PROPOSAL
Earlier this month, Minister Burke proposed a same sex marriage bill to the Wizengamot.
The bill was specific to witches and wizards and would only be legal in the wizarding world - not under any muggle laws. Burke stated that if enacted, she would plan talks with the muggle government, encouraging them to pass a similar law. However, the bill was denied by 72% of the Wizengamot.
Burke stated that she just wants equality for all creatures and beings, including the right to marry regardless of sex. She stated that she will not give up and will propose this bill again, once she has confidence that more of the Wizengamot will agree.
Only two months ago, Burke allowed werewolves back at Hogwarts and this seems to be a further attempt for more equality in the wizarding world. But is Britain really ready for such a radical law? It looks like, for the moment, it isn't. At least, the Wizengamot doesn't think so. We're not ready yet, but Burke seems to have it be her mission to make us ready.
For now, any witches and wizards wanting to marry someone of the same sex will have to travel to Canada, the Netherlands or Spain.
