Ella Lilly Burke
Birthday: February 23, 2013
Blood Status: Half-Blood
Location of Residence: Braemar, Scotland
School: Hogwarts (next term)
House: Gryffindor (next term)
Appearance:
Ella has long red hair and light blue-green eyes. She is on the tall side for her age, and so looks a bit gangly, like her limbs don’t quite fit her body yet.
Three Characteristics You Think You Are:
Caring, Generous, Nerdy
Three Characteristics Others Think You Are:
Sweet, Protective, Studious
Three Random Facts:
She loves reading and almost always carries a book with her, just in case she gets bored and has time to kill.
She collects chocolate frog cards. Her favourite is Uric the Oddball, as she always found the jellyfish hat funny.
She rescued a stray kitten she found in the fields near her house when she was 8. Her parents let her keep him, as long as nobody else claimed him within a month. Nobody ever did. He’s a plump long haired white cat, with bright blue eyes, named Moon.
Aspirations:
Help save endangered magical creatures.
Read every book in the Hogwarts library.
Opinion:
Care of Magical Creatures: Ella grew up surrounded by all kinds of creatures in the Scottish countryside, not to mention the many creatures her father cared for, and so this class is right up her alley. She has a keen interest in magical creatures, and would love to follow in her father’s footsteps.
Herbology: When Ella attends Hogwarts, this will be her favourite class (at least until she can take COMC) and she will love learning about all the magical plants and their uses. However, for now, as she’s only 10, she enjoys working in the garden with her parents.
Liberamach: While Ella doesn’t really understand all the politics involved, she supported Liberamach simply because her parents did, although they weren’t directly involved in the movement.
Lethifolds: A terrifying creature in Ella’s mind. Her father would often tell them spooky stories involving dangerous magical creatures as children, and the Lethifolds were some of the scariest. Ella hopes she never ever ever has to come in contact with one.
The Knight Bus: Ella has only ever ridden the Knight Bus once in her life, when her parents got a bit too intoxicated at a holiday party and didn’t feel sober enough to apparate home with the children. It was not a fun ride. Ella felt very sick afterwards, no thanks to the amount of sweets she had eaten at the party, and is definitely in no hurry to ever repeat the event.

Roleplay Example:
Lia was a bit baffled when students in the class actually knew the answers to the questions the Professor asked. Particularly as she recognized the two who answered from the sorting ceremony, meaning they were both first years like her! How did they know so much already? It was only the first week of classes. Maybe they were from wizard families and already learned some of these spells? Was there such a thing as wizarding primary school?
Her internal trail of questions was cut short as Professor Da Costa instructed them all to join him at the front of the class. Lia stood up from her desk to join her classmates, her foot getting caught in the strap of her backpack. She stumbled forward, frantically waving her foot to free itself, barely managing to avoid face planting as the backpack let go of her leg and fell back to the floor. She quickly walked up to join the rest of the class, keeping her eyes trained downwards, hoping nobody noticed her little trip up.
Only as she got to the front did she finally look up, her eyes widening when, with just a few flicks of his hand, Professor Da Costa cleared the room of desks and chairs, and moved all their books and other belongings to the back of the classroom. She definitely had to remember to ask him how he did that for the next time she had to clean her room. Magic just seemed to make everything so much easier! She was giddy with excitement, especially when he instructed them all to get in lines to actually practice new spells. Finally she’d get to do actual magic!
Lia quickly joined the closest line to her, since she didn’t really know anyone yet to be joining friends. Maybe today would change that? Suddenly she heard someone speaking behind her, asking if he could just push another student instead of using the jinx to get around school rules. Maybe not… this boy didn’t seem very nice. Her eyebrows furrowed, and just as she was about to turn around and tell him so, he cut in front of her in line. “Hey!” She exclaimed indignantly, but the boy didn’t seem to care as he practiced the spell, not just once, but twice! Lia bristled in frustration, although she was a bit impressed at how successful he was with his spellcasting.
As he turned around to face her, and the rest of the line, essentially threatening them with the spell, her eyes widened slightly. He wouldn’t actually do that in a classroom with the professor right there, right? Lia didn’t know this boy very well, if at all, but by his attitude so far she doubted he cared very much. Well, she wasn’t going to let herself be threatened. She was a witch! She would show him what she was capable of. “Why don’t you move aside and let the rest of us have a turn?” She retorted, trying to make her face look as stoic as possible. She barely waited for him to move out of the way before she raised her own wand, pointing it at the dummy. “Pulsus.” The dummy barely moved. She scrunched her eyebrows and looked down at her wand. Was it broken? “Pulsus!” She tried again, and wasn’t much more successful.
Her frown deepened as her cheeks started to flush. How did he do it so easily? Embarrassed at her failure, she turned her eyes to the ground as she made her way to the back of the line, purposefully avoiding looking at the rude boy.
