Giovanna had to meet a potential ally in England which meant that she needed a disguise. She took a polyjuice potion and transformed as a random muggle she had passed by in her travels.
She told the woman to meet her at the back table in the Hog's Head. It wasn't a Hogsmeade trip for the students, just a Saturday night. There were lots of other people in the pub, or at least lots for the Hog's Head. But they were definitely not the only ones in there. There were other conversations going on, but they would still keep hushed voices.
The woman she had invited there had no idea what she would look like. The letter didn't even say it was from Giovanna, but she did imply certain things that Roxanne would hopefully be able to figure out it was Giovanna. If not, someone from Mortenero at least. By her showing up, Giovanna would already know that she had interest because she would be able to guess the nature of the meeting.
Mortenero was done now, but Giovanna was doing something new, though in a similar vein. Though what she wanted now was a lot more than just the country.
She waited in the back of the establishment for Roxanne to show up. If not, she would enjoy her Firewhiskey at her table in peace and be on her way.

It had been a long time since Roxanne had heard from any of her old acquaintances from Mortenero. Not since she had left the country all those years ago, after she had been changed. She had fully expected to be ostracized by everybody, thanks to her parents' influence. The fact that she was now a vampire was not common knowledge, at least she didn’t suspect so. She fully expected her parents to make up some lie about to explain her disownment from the family; one that would not involve bringing the shame of having a vampire for a daughter.
It had thus been quite a surprise to have received such a peculiar letter a fortnight ago, asking for a meeting on that very night. Roxanne had been skeptical at first. She had since distanced herself from her former social circles, keeping her very existence a secret, partly out of fear that they, too, would reject her, like everybody else in her life. Yet, her curiosity peaked. Why had she been contacted now? Why her in particular? She had no illusions that she would be the only one, after all there were dozens if not hundreds of former Mortenero members, yet was surprised to have been included at all. Had her parents not poisoned her reputation as she had expected?
It was with much internal debate that Roxanne finally decided to attend the meeting, at the very least to confirm her suspicions. She had an idea who had written that letter, as it was left unsigned, but she needed confirmation. If she was correct, well, perhaps there was a chance for her to get her old life back after all, something she hadn’t yet dared dream about.
Wrapped up in her cloak, she made the trek down towards Hogsmeade and into the Hog’s Head. Not her favourite locale, but it did the trick for such clandestine meetings. As she shook off the cold in the entrance way, she peered around the pub. It was relatively busy, for the Hog’s Head at least, filled with familiar and unfamiliar faces. There was no telling who she was looking for, so Roxanne headed straight to the bar for a drink, knowing they would reveal themselves in due time.
