Rafe’s work was entirely a mystery given he was an unspeakable at the department of Mysteries. He often wondered what would happen if he did diverge the type of work he does or his previous works. It had been sometime since Rafe’s presence was seen again in Knockturn Alley. His work at the Ministry had kept him preoccupied and if anything, this almost felt like a little holiday despite being here for business needs.
Borgia & Burkes was one if not the most famous store in Knockturn Alley. You could almost find anything and everything here if you offered the right price. Unfortunately, the store was rather busier than normal and he had organised a time to meet with the owner. Rafe began exploring the curious artifices the store had whilst the shop keep was busy with the other clients in the store.

Giovanna was looking for new allies to help with her ambitious goals. There was a prophecy about her now, with someone who could defeat her, and with the potential for greatness. She was in pursuit now. Not just of England, but the world, but it started with gathering forces.
She of course started with old contacts like Iago and Carla. They were always game. She wasn't sure if Draco would support this, but at least he helped her get her hands on the prophecy in the Ministry. Giovanna was just glad she still had enough contacts for someone to even tell her about its existence. Draco usually was fairly cautious, though, and probably wouldn't join in until they were the smart choice. Giovanna didn't hold that against him too much. He had a family and an estate, and he just wasn't like Giovanna. He couldn't go off running around the world as a fugitive. That just wasn't him. He needed the comforts in life. He was used to it. Of course, Giovanna grew up that way as well, but since being an adult and being a fugitive before, she found that she thrived in the adventure. Draco wouldn't know what to do with himself.
Giovanna turned her sights onto other old allies. There had been many in Mortenero back in the day. Giovanna didn't stop believing in their cause, but after the Ministry got taken over by that muggleborn extremist, taking the Ministry over again just seemed a little boring. Fight to get back to status quo? Why? What was the purpose? Ruling had been boring. Giovanna realized she liked a fight. When they won and she had control of the country (via Whitlock, of course), Giovanna had been quite bored. But this time... She didn't expect this to be easy or quick. Her ambitions were might greater than just Britain.
She had reached out to Roxanne, who now was a Healer at Hogwarts. She thought it was useful to have old allies in Hogwarts to keep an eye on things there, and especially Eliza. Or at the very least, just make her life a little unbearable. But she also looked into other old allies. Of course, it had been 12 years since Mortenero disbanded, and 14 years since they did anything of worth. Many could have changed their opinions on things and gone to the other side. Many might be comfortable in their lives like Draco and not want to rock the boat and potentially become a fugitive as well. It took some courage to be one of the first in a movement like this and not everyone had it in them.
One person she watched for a little while (or got others to) was Rafe. He had been in Mortenero before and done a fine job. He was smart, which was useful. Giovanna hadn't asked him to help with the cure because she asked Draco. But Rafe was also an Unspeakable. She wasn't sure if he liked Draco too much since he had seniority over Draco yet Draco got the position (when Lucius was Minister for Magic). But that didn't matter. Even if they both had animosity towards each other, it was obvious to all that Draco meant something to Giovanna, that they meant something to each other. Even if nothing was ever consummated, everyone in Mortenero knew there was a special bond there, at the very least. So even if Rafe held resentment towards Draco, that wouldn't matter.
At the moment, Rafe was in Borgin and Burkes, which was important. It showed he was still on the right side. No one on the supposed 'good' side would never stray into Knockturn Alley. Although Giovanna knew first hand, that people on the side of 'good' did some terrible and unspeakable things. They just acted like it was for the greater good to justify such actions. They were no better than Dark Arts users by any means.
Giovanna had slipped in a little while after Rafe, while his back was turned, looking at some of the artifacts. She made her way to the backroom, just in time for her polyjuice potion to run out. She took a moment there and then came out.
She came out of the shadows and towards Rafe. "A trip down memory lane or do you have some business here?" she asked. Not that she would help him. She was hoping quite the opposite. She was hoping he would be the one to help her.

It was often quite obvious when it was a person's first time entering Borgin & Burkes. To the eye of a person who's never encountered anything involving dark magic or dark arts, it would of been an eye opener. Some of the items sold here were made to curse someone if they were to enter a particular area, some designed to kill but what Rafe was after was something a little more sinister and rare that he had been on the search for it for months on in. So rare that he had to organise a one on one appointment with the shop keeper.
Truth be told, it had nothing to do with his line of work but more something that attributed to his personal taste of life. Needless to say, he was so skilled at manipulation and deception that his true bearings and loyalty were always hidden at work and he was constantly seen as being Mr friendly.
His fingers traced mysterious artifacts from Bulgaria, Romania and Spain. Some from the wildest parts of some native magical tribes in Australia. His mind in a place of his own until a voice called out to him. At first, he thought it was the shop keeper and a stoic face appeared as a facial expression as he turned the corner to see who he was speaking with.
The pupils in his eyes widened as his heart beat began racing and slowing down all at the same time. He took a small gasp of air as he looked face to face with a person from his long term past. It was none other than Madam Nero in the flesh. " Madam Nero!" He said bowing his head out of respect for the great woman. " To what do I owe the pleasure on this encounter?" He asked looking rather stoic on the outside but applauding himself on the inside knowing just how well known and feared this dark witch was. " Madam Nero, it has always been a pleasure to visit my humble roots and at the same time, reminisce about the good old days." He replied marking homage to his time working in this very store to when he was in Montenero and serving Madam Nero as a lowly recruit.

Rafe had always been respectful. Of course, when Mortenero was new, Giovanna had been pretty young herself, only 23. Now she was almost double that age. Rafe had been 20 when he joined. Being older than him and the leader of the group, respect was expected. However, he definitely had some good manners on him. That went with being a pureblood sometimes, though. Traditions meant more than just blood and magic. One couldn't be a traditionalist without respecting some old traditional ways that didn't necessarily have to do with blood status. There was more to it than just that.
That surely showed its colours in the civil war, too. A lot of the purebloods had sided with the Ministry because of tradition. They didn't need a new country with new ideals popping up. But unfortunately that is exactly what happened. But at least that meant that all the equal rights loving goodie two-shoes went off to Scotland. The Ministry was actually more traditional now without them, and pureblood ideals would be a lot easier to put forward. Giovanna had to assume that Anonymous was doing that right now.
Giovanna slightly nodded her head in turn. "Rafe," she said, somehow a little softly, which was difficult to do with his name. She wanted to make it clear that this was a casual, personal encounter, by using his first name. Letting it be known, even just between the two of them, that they knew each other.
Ah, the good old days. So many implications with those words. Of course, it was a harmless enough phrase, used often by people who were feeling nostalgic, even if the 'good old days' weren't even that great. Sometimes things in the past just seemed better than the present because of how distant they were. But also the good old days for both of them were times when the purebloods were in power, when things were better in this country. "Yes, things were good, weren't they?" Giovanna said. "And perhaps they will be again." Of course, she had a plan for that. She didn't think that things would just get better by itself. Nothing ever changed without someone at least pushing the change along. And this time, things would need a big push.

Hearing Madam Nero address him by his first name was welcoming. His head still bowed, Rafe closed his eyes for a split second as the memories of his time at Montenero flooded his memory. " It is an honour to meet you in the flesh Madam Nero." He said again glorifying the woman who stood before him. Being a lowly but loyal member of Montenero meant that he wasn't actually able to see her close up let alone be able to examine the fair complexion she had on her face. If anything, she had not aged at all.
" To what do I owe this pleasure today?" He said softly lifting his head up to look the woman in the eye and across the room as he noticed that the once thriving store was now empty and still, the shop keeper was no where to be seen. He quickly seized the moment and whipped out his wand and flicked it toward the door, the curtains and the windows too echoing a whipping sound followed by mechanical noises as the doors and windows all locked before them.
A wave of his hand caused nearly all the candles to sizzle out as he turned his head back over to Madam Nero. " The good days where we had the power. " He added as he took a deep breath. " Madam Nero, I must ask. Have you been okay?" He genuinely respected the woman not only as a leader but also as a sincere thought.
An eyebrow clocked up upon hearing what Madam Nero had said. " Again?" The curiosity of the unspeakable reached a new level as his his head turned around to ensure they were alone. " What can I do to aide you in this journey Madam Nero?" He asked with a smile on his face as his hand stroked the short trimmed bear he had on his face. He was about to speak again when another question happened to roll out of his mouth before even thinking. " More importantly, how can I support you to achieve success. " His loyalties to the ministry were clearly all a façade including his role as an unspeakable but perhaps today was something one unspeakable would clearly define as fate or something along those lines.
