Can you believe it's another year already?

Hi everyone, I'm V. Most of you probably know me, since I'm all over the cbox, but in case you're wondering why I'm posting the usual "hey gang, we've moved forward" thread instead of Eliza, it's because I'm now in charge. Now, this is not forever, Eliza is not gone, she's just really busy. Since she doesn't have time to get through all of the updates we need at the present time, so I'm running the show for the time being. You shouldn't notice too many changes in the way the administration works, you just need to know. Anything that needs administrative attention should be sent to me on this account. Now for the information!

PLOT UPDATE

The Death Eaters have taken over! You heard that right, but shhh, don't try mentioning that, it's all very hush-hush. Want proof? Take a look at the prophet. The evidence is everywhere, but no one's willing to be the first one to say it out in the open.

THE PROPHET

Our very own Daily Prophet on TB has posted a new issue. We've had a major plot change, so you should definitely check it out HERE. After a period of chaos, ordinary citizens welcome a return to order. (Because it's not stated implicitly that the Death Eaters are now running the show.) There will always be rebels, but they have to go underground to avoid being arrested.

NEW HOGWARTS RULES

This is covered in the article, but in case you decide not to read it, there are new rules for Hogwarts students. Muggleborns, vampires, and werewolves are all banned from the school. (If you have a character that falls into this category, please drop me a pm so we can discuss what you want to do.) You can try to hide, pass yourself off as normal, but the staff is scrutinizing all of the students very carefully, so you probably won't get away with it forever. It's better to run for it, really. All the special classes for vampires and werewolves have been cancelled, of course, and the professors fled to avoid being arrested.

OUTLAWED

Remember, the factions are now illegal. If you're in the Revolution or Order, you can't mention it in public without being detained as a terrorist. You can still join the groups or the student versions of the organizations, but you'd better be sly about it and not let the government in on your rebellious status. There are no barriers to joining the Death Eaters, of course. Vampires and werewolves are also considered outlaws as soon as they enter the country. Any who are spotted will be arrested by the ministry.

NEW AT THE MINISTRY
There is now a new office in the ministry as part of the Department of Justice. The Department of Magical Purity has been created to inspect those suspected of violating the new laws by being a halfbreed or being connected to The Revolution and The Order of the Phoenix. Employees here have the power to detain and arrest suspects, and conduct their trials. This office has largely been filled by Death Eaters, though those with genuine pro-purity leanings may find themselves employed here as well.

NEW ADULTS
Many people who moved up at the end of the year have now become adults. This thread is your new friend if you want to get a job for your character. Please either respond here or pm me with your job selection, and you'll be added straightaway. This also applies to other adult characters that are as of now unemployed. There are a lot of jobs here to choose from, just make sure the age fits and we're good to go. Let's populate those lists like crazy.
